Easy Access to Participant Account Services

Employees can choose to transact or generate information about their accounts in many ways, depending on their preferences:

  • Participant website—24/7 access.
  • Voice Response Unit (VRU)—(866-440-5980) 24/7 access.
    • Voice Print Technology enables the VRU to recognize callers by unique voice pattern, if desired, eliminating the need for passwords.
    • Natural Speech Language Recognition enables VRU to understand voice prompts.
  • Customer Service Representative at 800-528-0204, option 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., EST, Monday to Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., EST, Friday. (Language assistance and hearing impaired services available.)

All three access points employ proven security procedures to ensure that participant data remains confidential.

Participant Transactions and Recordkeeping

State-of-the-art online services include:

  • Automated Enrollment - Participants, once informed of their eligibility, can enroll in the plan online.
  • Electronic Account Statements are distributed quarterly and are available on the participant website at any time. Paper copies are available upon request.
  • Extensive list of services to make for participants to view and manage their retirement account.

This helpful site offers a wealth of tools in a format that is user-friendly and encourages interactivity. Designed as both a learning and transactional tool, the website is guided, simple to navigate, uses visuals to aid understanding, and offers proactive features so that participants can personalize their experience.

Distribution Options

Retirement Gateway® has been carefully designed with a wide variety of payout options to help accommodate the needs of participants throughout their retirement years. These options include:

  • Death benefits, as outlined in the plan or elected by the participant.
  • Payments for as long as the participant lives.
  • Payments for as long as the participant and his or her joint annuitant live.
  • Lump sum or partial withdrawals
  • Joint life expectancy of the participant and his or her joint annuitant
  • Automatic minimum withdrawals as required for participants over age 70½ or retired from service
  • Payments for a specific length of time (not longer than the participant's and his or her beneficiaries' life expectancies)

Withdrawals from qualified retirement plans are subject to normal income tax treatment and, if taken prior to age 59½, may be subject to an additional 10% federal income tax penalty.
